The '90s Collection

Step back in time to a golden era of weightlifting, where legends were born and battles on the platform were nothing short of heroic. The ‘90s was a decade of raw power, intense competition, and unforgettable style. At Weightlifting House, we’ve taken inspiration from this iconic period to create a collection that pays tribute to the athletes, the spirit, and the aesthetics of the '90s.

Our ‘90s Collection is more than just apparel; it’s a journey back to the time when weightlifting was gritty, bold, and unapologetically strong. We’ve meticulously designed each piece to reflect the essence of the era—from the oversized, thick-collared t-shirts to the vibrant color blocks and rugged tracksuits that defined the training halls of the past.

The ’90s was a golden era for weightlifting

a time when legends like Pyrros Dimas, Naim Süleymanoğlu, and the Greek Dream Team dominated the sport. It was a decade of intense training, iconic battles, and bold, unmistakable style.

The influence of this era runs deep

at Weightlifting House, inspiring us from the very beginning.

Our ’90s Collection is a tribute to this extraordinary time.

We’ve recreated the thick, oversized t-shirts, strong collars, and striking color blocks that defined the look of the ’90s. Each piece, from the Sofia T-shirt to the Dream Team Shorts, is infused with the stories and spirit of the era’s greatest athletes.

We aim to bring the energy and ethos of ’90s weightlifting

into today's training halls, by revisiting the past. We hope you feel the history and passion behind each item, just as we did in creating them.

Stylish, as well as functional

Very cool retro style, while also keeping you warm. Has a nice smooth material on the outside, and a nice fleece feel to the inside. The pockets also have zippers, which is a nice touch, so no worries about things falling out. Has a nice cut to the jacket, but may be a bit tight on more muscular wearers near the shoulders and chest. Overall, a very nice jacket that I would recommend!

Iconic, high quality but incomplete

Overall this jacket is well worth its price. The high quality of the materials, the looks, the sizing and the durability are spot on. The first time I thought when putting this jacket on is 'wow, this is iconic'. The type of jacket you will find going for double the price in 10 years at a vintage store. However, the comfort of this jacket when putting it on is the only thing that makes this jacket incomplete. Would maybe have chosen a different material for the inside of the sleeves or fixed the fleece at the sleeves.

The looks:
This jacket looks amazing. The outer material leaves for nice reflections/shine in the sun and the colours are true to what you see on the picture. The logo in red really pops. The shoulder striped logo really matches well with both the Sofia shirt and the classic training pants because of the vertical alignment on the shoulder / legs. The looks of the oversized fit really are 90's oversized. Perfect balance between a proper fit and baggy. Either zipped up or open it looks really stylish. Good match with the black Sofia t-shirt or either colour way podium t-shirt.

Sizing:
I went for the loose / oversized fit by staying true to my size (M - 170cm, broader shoulders than average @70kg). It fits well with the oversized shirts, but wearing a hoodie underneath is pushing it.

The materials:
The outer material seems delicate and I imagine it to be worn more in circumstances where you won't get messy or godforbid scratch it. The zippers are all good quality YKK and nothing in their path to get caught up. With the baggy style the zippers are sometimes hard to close/open with one hand. The elastic bands on the wrist and waist are perfect and bring out the baggy style well. The inner material is a soft fleece and seems delicate too. Wouldn't want to put anything sharp or edgy in its path when putting it on. It also isolates really well for your average jacket. Together with a t-shirt it can really keep you warm in a training hall. Outside it is loses it isolation for me below 5 degrees Celsius. The neck elastic band is of good quality too. Stitching could be better on the waist and cuffs, since I had some loose stitching and had to cut them. Nothing letting loose or something. All the stitching are good blind stitching.

Durability:
I do think this jacket is delicate and needs to be taken care of gently. Not something I would wear when going for a run, bike or hike. More a jacket I wear to go to the gym/training hall or even going out (yes it looks that good). This also means for me that I wouldn't just wash machine it. Especially because of the fleece liner. I would probably have it dry cleaned at the tailor/dry cleaner. I think with taking care of it, it will last a long time. But not if I would start snatching or C&J'ing in this.

Comfort:
It fits well and really feels cozy, but as I mentioned it does not breath well so working out in it is a no go. I do not imagine it to easily dry up sweat or let sweat pass through. I also have a hard time with the liner being lose from the outer layer. When putting it on, the inner fleece liner gets stuck in shirts or sweaters at the sleeves and 'pops up' out of the cuff; which I then have to adjust. The only negative of the jacket.

It is amazing fit and feel, the only thing is the material is 100% Polyester, I would of been more happy with Cotton mix, beside this is a top notch clothing.
I still will give it a 5 stars!
